Discovering the Sacred Herbs
Many herbs are used in the smudging practice. After years of research, trial, and error, I can finally recognize the herbs in the wild that are commonly used for this spiritual practice.
All the smudges are personally harvested with prayers and offerings, and all those beautiful herbs are found in our abundant valleys!
Here are the 4 main herbs that I forage, bundle and offer through Sacred.
Sage
The Herb: Common sage ('Salvia Officinales').
Harvest Time: During spring and autumn.
Metaphysical Associations: Masculine in nature, linked to the element of air and the planet Jupiter. Sacred to Greek Zeus and Roman Jupiter.
