Feel the Whispers of the Wind

"Feel the whispers of the wind, the ancient breath of the universe, as it carries both the wisdom of our Ancestors and the visions of tomorrow."

The Elements in Smudging Rituals

In the smudging ritual, the Elements are similarly represented. The feather, used to waft the healing smoke, represents the Air Element and assists in completing the balance of all Elements.

The Significance of Smudging with a Feather

The main reason for smudging with a feather is that Native People revere birds because of their closeness with The Divine. The Bird Spirit connects Father Sky with Mother Earth during the cleansing ceremony. The feathers move the energies from the Aura Body through the sweeping motion, much like a bird in flight. This representation is so beautiful and very inspiring as one learns to connect with all of Mother Earth through ancient ways.
