In 1940, Reich devised a way to concentrate this energy for healing. He called it the Orgone Accumulator (ORAC). The design relied on a specific layering principle:

  • Organic Layers (Wool, Fiberglass, Cotton): These materials act as a magnet to attract and hold Orgone.

  • Inorganic Layers (Steel Wool, Sheet Metal): These materials repel and direct energy in all directions.

By stacking these in alternating layers, Reich built six-sided boxes where patients would sit to absorb concentrated energy through their skin and lungs.

  • Versatility: Beyond boxes, he used blankets and "shooters" to treat localized injuries.
